Default 2001 E55 will not restart after sitting 10 minutes

Hello,

My 2001 E55 will not restart after sitting 10 minutes, but if you let it sit much longer or much less than 10 min, there is no problem.

It cranks over very well. It will eventually start, but not until I have tried multiple times to start it. Raising the hood may help, or it may coincidence.

It sounds to me like a component is getting heat soaked and not functioning properly.

Anyone have this experience?

Thank you

Thank you for the input. Was your check engine light on?

My CE light is not on. It also stumbles for the first few blocks when I start it in the mornings and it has very poor / irratic throttle response.

Do you know where the crank sensor is located?

Robert

I would have someone look at it, so that your not stranded somewhere far away from home. Then your screwed.....Definitely have autozone read the codes from the OBD port. And have it serviced.
