Faulty gearbox...?? Damn cars. Could really use some advice

Ok, so it's a Kleemann. So what. I'd rather have an AMG any day, truthfully, they're designed to work and they work to the design. I've got a problem with the old 5 spd gearbox on my E500 (W211) and don't know what's causing it. There's a juddering through the car at low revs, especially under light load, and the gearbox doesn't seem to know whether to shift or not. Apparently there's a way for water/dirt/liquid to get into the box and allow the oil to emulsify; also, I've heard this is a known fault on the E class but that MB wouldn't issue a recall simply choosing to repair the problem if owners made it known to them. Does anyone know if indeed that's the case? Car's just sitting there, wanting to play, but it's no joy to drive with that awful juddering shaking the car almost to bits. See? Wouldn't get that with an AMG...
