Hi Ricky, welcome to the site! Thanks for joining us here.
That SLR is AMAZING! Saw one at the dealership here but they had it roped off so could hardly even get close!
We're a brand new site so just getting ramped up but looking forward to you sharing your knowledge with our members!
All the best
Frank

Thank you Frank, the SLR is a master piece, the ones we have at our dealers dont have any ropes, the owner wants our customers to feel comfortable and feel free to look at anything they want. Once again thank you, this forum is by far the best I have seen.

SLR is a masterpiece indeed. With the SL65 Black Series coming, I just hope they don't kill the SLR before I win the lotto!
Thank you for the kind words. I hope you can help us build it to become a real resource and destination for AMG owners.

you're welcome, and if you or any of the AMGforum members have any questions at all, feel free to send me an email and I will try my best to be helpful, but I usually look at the threads everybody post, and if there is something that I dont know, I will investigate to find the key for the answer. At my job we have NetStar and Wiz, which is the Mercedes Benz Technical information website provided to dealers only, and if I still cant find the answer, my shop foreman is always able to get in touch with the Mercedes Benz engineers, and this guys know almost anything, but if they dont, they are able to find the answer a lot faster.

could be many things, at first, check the condition of the wear of your tires, also check the wheels if they are bent, then start by inspecting the suspension for any loose or worn out components, also bad wheel bearings may give you a vibration(its very rare but it happens), at at last if everything seems to be okay, check the wheel alignment, I do not believe that your rear CV axles may give you a vibration but it is always posible, but since the problem is between the speeds of 65 to 70MPH most likely is your tires that need to be balanced, I just see it hard to feel it comming from the rear wheels, make sure you inspect the front end as well. good luck and let us know what the problem was.

Thanks, Ricky.
I'd seem a small blister on inside surface of rear tire when I bought this car....but didn't have this vib....until last week.
You are most likely vib....cause front tires issue or even bad rotors....
I guess...this is my weekend project..
What is the most command thing you work on AMGs?

the most commond thing I work on AMGs? we deal a lot with bent wheels, replace flat tires due to road impact and alignments...lol AMGs are the best of the best, I did have a few AMGs that is mostly warranty work, I had a 2008 CL63 with 2300miles that the check engine light was on, as per trouble code ended up having a faulty injection air-pump, replaced it for a newone and still had the problem so I had to return it and reinstalled the old one back on, my shop foreman and I were going crazy at it, a couple of the engineers came over from the head quarters and they even tryed an ME, engine computer, and the problem was still pressent, untill my shop foreman was looking at the wireing diagram and started to check the harness and found that the wires at the connector that goes to the airpump were reversed giving resistance to the pump and not letting output enough airpressure into the engines intake, it is very rare to find problems with new and older AMGs, but the most commond problem on every Mercedes including the AMGs with the 722.6 transmission is the pilot bushing(trans plug connector) that it leaks out, we used to replace them and they started to leak within a year, now Mercedes came out with the same connector but with better seals, when you look at your transmission's sump(oil pan) and if you see trans fluid all over dont think its the gasket, it is rare to see our transmission sump seals to leak, so most likely is the pilot bushing on the 722.6 transmissions only, and if you run your AMG at the track or abuse it a lot, I recommend you replace the transmission fluid every 20K miles, the factory recommends it every 32K miles, but that is under normal driving, and if you have around 80K miles on your vehicle and you have never exchanged your transmission fluid I would not even replace it, because the new fluid may eat up your clutches and lead to a transmission failure, but if you feel like replacing it, a good idea is to drain about a quart and then add a quart and just drive it like that, and try to do the same every 13K miles, that is my own idea, I have done it in the past and there were no problems, but I wouldnt try to replace the transmission filter on that situation.
The 722.9 transmissions are a lot better, no leaks at all, I have seen problems in a few, but not a single problem on a 722.9 transmission that attached to an AMG engine, before an AMG is released, the AMG plant makes sure to inspect and modify every single component so it can perform better and be more reliable.
PS: most problems I fix on AMGs are due to careless owners

thanks for the info, Ricky.
If my car is CLK55 '05, Convt.....what kind of transmission it come with? 722.9 or 722.6?
I think what you are talking about on replacing the pilot bushing(trans plug connector)....I did replaced on my sister's E320 '03
